Skidoos at Z5

With regard to [the query in Z-fids Newsletter No. 8 about] the Ski-Doos, yes a couple were ridden down the steps, by me. Sadly I don't have a copy of the video. One did go off the top, quite spectacularly when it was started on the platform with the throttle jammed wide open. One hit the base legs in a white out, but was reincarnated using half a 45 gallon drum for a bonnet.

As for where they were kept, sheeted up outside mostly. Although to work on them in bad weather or for major repairs I hoisted them onto the platform and drove them into the corridor.^*

*More feasible in 1990 before the scientists moved in. They might have complained! -- Ed.

'Chicken Mother'

Swan Dive
